25 Costco Healthy Snacks

Costco is a great place to shop for a family who eats healthy; check out my healthy Costco shopping list. If you spend more than $5,500 a year there, it makes financial sense to pay $110 for executive membership and earn 2% cash back. So far, not only we have saved money on groceries, but cashback covers our membership and even makes us extra money. Win-win, if you ask me. Here is my philosophy when it comes to snacks and how I choose Costco healthy snacks:

10 Reasons I’m Not Buying Instant Pot

My sister-in-law bought Instant Pot earlier this year, a few other mom bloggers did, and I have seen enormous amount of recipes online. Seems to be new “wonder” of the world that revolutionizes modern busy mom’s cooking. But does it really? A few weeks ago, I decided to buy one but first did my research, after which I came to conclusion that I’m probably missing out on source of income, will never get free Instant Pot to review, but I do not need Instant Pot. And here are…

Farmers Market Haul in September

Once a week, June – October, I shop at local farm stand for produce that has been grown without use of pesticides in the most natural way. It is not certified organic, however it is local and as good as it gets. I recommend to do your best due diligence to ask farmers at your local farmers market about their growing methods and just concentrate on buying real food. For last week’s shopping, see farmers market haul in August. We are definitely in a prime harvest season for…

How I Stopped Drinking Wine for 30 Days

I love wine! We all know I love wine, for Pete’s sake. Wine has been present in my life every weekend for years. You know how people can’t live without sugar, I can’t live without wine. I, myself, can’t believe I am writing about how I stopped drinking wine for a month, or the fact that I’m doing it (it is merely Day 10 without wine as I’m writing this paragraph), or that I actually did it. So if you have recovered from the shock of this turn…

A Fight That Is Worth Fighting

An email in response to my yesterday’s emotions I received this morning. I cried again. That 1 person exists! Oh! Sweet Olena! As one who grew up surrounded by a huge family yet feeling removed and alone, even in crowded situations, I was labeled a “loner”. Couldn’t have been farther from the truth but it carried the truth, I longed to be part of groups, in school, as a young mom, as an older mom too! There had to be something about my introverted and extreme shyness that…

Healthy Costco Shopping List 2017

Originally published Feb 7, 2017 and updated April 25, 2017 Last Friday, before we got snowed in, I went to Costco. As I started to stroll the aisles running like a madwoman with a shopping cart, I’ve got this immediate urge to take a photo of every item I was buying and share with you. I had a feeling NOW is the time to share my healthy Costco shopping list of 2017. Sounds dramatic but isn’t anything to do with Costco is dramatic?! This is my Costco in February,…

Costco in Mexico: Healthy Shopping

Renting a condo versus staying at an all-inclusive resort means we have to do our own cooking. I’m still deciding how I feel about it because the last thing I want to do on vacation is to cook. But this time I had no choice because we came down to Mexico for a month versus traditional week or two at the resort, it was my sacrifice. We have a van that we rent from our condo’s owners, so we can go out. It is definitely a must with…
