Whole Wheat Pumpkin Bread

Aaaand today is the first full day of Kindergarten. Aaaand my organically fed child is sick at home since Friday. Sigh. By this point I am starting to think I might have a kangaroo’s DNA in me. But I am intending to make the best out of this rainy sad Monday by embracing my cleaning lady, doing a killer HIIT workout and blogging what I can. I barely slept last night (just overwhelmed) but I will set that aside too. A few cups of black tea did their…

Baked Oatmeal Muffins

This baked oatmeal in a form of convenient pre-portioned grab and go breakfast is not only delicious, Clean Eating approved, vegan but also is super easy. I guarantee you have all ingredients on hand to make these baked oatmeal muffins right now. I also made 2 versions: one with mashed bananas (just yellow ripe ones, no need to wait for them to turn brown) and another one with unsweetened applesauce. Both super delicious!

Clean Eating Blueberry Muffins

These blueberry muffins made with spelt flour (whole wheat works too), applesauce and fresh blueberries came out fantastic!!! I have to admit I’m MUCH better baker today than even last year. As I was mixing the batter I was sceptical as my last year’s healthy version of blueberry muffins was…weird. That is me being honest. Back then I was still in a place trying to figure out my diet and cooking style. I looked at that recipe today again and cringed. What for is that banana?! It won’t be noticeable. And…

Whole Wheat Drop Biscuits

I loved the biscuit topping in the Fruit Cobbler I made a few months ago so much that I decided to make a savoury version to serve with soup a few days ago. I know it is summer and hot but I still use the oven regularly. I can’t imagine not turning on the oven or stove in summer (this year I got smarter and installed a portable AC in the kitchen). Are we going to eat chia pudding till Halloween or what?! We do not eat much meat…

Clean Eating BBQ Sauce Recipe

You can tell I wasn’t born in North America because I do not care much about sauces, dips, spreads etc. I know weird but honestly I don’t suffer. Take away wine and I will cry…However, after the Slow Cooker Pulled Pork recipe I realized I created sort of Clean Eating BBQ Sauce. Then a few readers emailed me asking if I have any condiment recipes. Nope, I don’t. Then a a few weeks ago, my friend Suzanne asked the same question while we were strolling aisles of CHFA West…

Clean Eating Gluten Free Applesauce Waffles

I gotta admit that breakfast in my house can be boring if I don’t plan in advance. And many times I don’t. And frankly, lately my kids have been eating a lot of Nature’s Path cereals. Just because it’s life but giving them organic, whole grain and low in sugar cereal makes me feel better. I just got caught up in a Holiday rush of things and finally it’s over. Hallelujah. I don’t know how you feel but I need a vacation. To make and freeze a large…

Whole Wheat Berry Coffee Cake Recipe

The best word to describe this whole wheat coffee cake is moist. The dough itself was very moist from applesauce, topped with juicy berries + crunchy crumb topping and drizzled with coconut milk “icing”. Definitely you can bring it to any potluck or gathering and nobody would guess this cake is healthy. My family was all over it. Boys had it for after school snack every day. I gave a few pieces to my Italian neighbour and she said it was amazing. You know how Italians are with their…
