Healthy Chocolate Coconut Balls

OMG SCHOOL IS BAAAACK! You have to understand. I have been waiting for 10 years for my kids to be taken care of by someone else besides me and Alex for free at least half a day!!! In PNW we do not start school until after the Labour Day. On top of that, add gradual entry to kindergarten with one day it is a 20 minute interview. Another day is off because another half class is attending. A day after come for a half day. Then oops, it’s…

Vegetarian Oatmeal Patties

Meat is expensive. Can’t deny that. Organic meat costs even more. So, I find my ways to save money on meat in 2 Ukrainian ways: Back doors – just like with Chernobyl train tickets I got my ways to get free organic meat. My mom supplies us with venison her and her husband hunt in the prairies. I turn cheap ingredients like veggies and grains into large volume soups and filling fritters, burgers and cakes. Yesterday it was vegetarian oatmeal patties. What happened yesterday anyways?! By noon, I found myself pulling…

Quinoa Bread Recipe

+20 C outside and my slightly enlarged mid section after hibernation made me stop eating bread. I came to terms that low rise Lululemon pants are going on Ebay. Thankfully, it took them only about 10 years to start making high waist leggings. Hello?! Like what sane girl doesn’t want all her “junk in the trunk”?! Well, maybe except Tone It Up girls and 15 year olds. I do hope no suicides were committed among “normal” female population although I have seen a few broken hearts on Instagram. The girls look…

Cinnamon Toast Crunch Recipe with Superfoods

After last weekend, I am convinced – the more you relax, the more tired you feel. In 2 full days the only useful thing I managed to do was to test this cinnamon toast crunch recipe. Again, out of pure selfishness because I am bored to death with all breakfast options in my house. We got this window of opportunity when kids do not have sports for 2 weekends and both, me and Alex, looked at each other and pretty much thought the same: “Screw storage space cleaning,…

Gluten Free Crackers Recipe

Oh boy, this gluten free crackers recipe has quite a story and detailed video instructions. Woot-woot, my second video of the year! Thanks to my wonderful assistant, Eboni, I’m on a total roll in the kitchen. About assistant position…I would like to thank everyone who applied! Your emails were so generous, honest and filled with your own each personal story on how you began eating clean. Seriously, truly inspiring. I decided to thank everyone in one post because I kept putting off replying to each email which is becoming…

Almond Breakfast Smoothie

I find breakfast the most boring meal of the day. And I think it is not only me because health world has embraced chia pudding, egg quinoa muffins and smoothie bowls with a big fat “welcome”. If you are not health conscious you can grab a size of your head muffin at a bakery in your office building, order an egg sausage sandwich at the nearest drive thru or eat a bowl of sugary cereal. 3-4 bucks and you are done. Sigh, that is easy but is not an option…

Apple Oatmeal Bars with Honey

Well, hello, honey! Raw unpasteurized honey drizzled on top of crumbled pecans, covering juicy Granny Smith apples and moist oat and whole wheat crust. Delicious Fall inspired Apple Oatmeal Bars that remind me of Bear Paws cookies. You know those?! Moist and soft and for some reason my kids never liked them back in a day I used to buy store bought cookies. I loved them though, so this clean eating version of a soft bar hits the spot. Each Apple Oatmeal Bar contains only 1 tablespoon of sugar…

Healthy Pumpkin Blondies

Melt in your mouth pumpkin blondies on the menu this week! Fudgy, moist, rich and made without flour or eggs. I’m NOT joining a tribe of cooking weirdness, I promise, but I love to mix things up in my diet to keep it more balanced. Yes, you guessed it right – blondies with chickpeas. Aha. I promise there is 3 out of 150% chickpea taste in them. Test on the pickiest husband/boyfriend, if you have one. Mine will eat anything, even recipe tests I don’t like, Alex loves…

This baked oatmeal in a form of convenient pre-portioned grab and go breakfast is not only delicious, Clean Eating approved, vegan but also is super easy. I guarantee you have all ingredients on hand to make these baked oatmeal muffins right now. Healthy Snickers Bars with Oats

Snickers, Mars, Bounty, Kit Kat and Twix chocolate bars have a special place in my heart. When I was 10, my mom went to England to study for a month. I stayed with grandma in Ukraine and needless to say was crossing out days on a calendar. When mom came back, she brought me a pair of my 1st high heel girl’s shoes (black, lacquer; I wished my feet stopped growing) and a bunch of chocolate bars. Among them was Snickers. It was my first time trying a chocolate bar…
