Ingredients

  • 116 eggs, large
  • 1 cup water, cold or hot

Instructions

Soft Boiled Eggs

  1. Place trivet or steamer basket inside Instant Pot.
  2. Add 1 cup hot tap water.
  3. Add 1-16 eggs.
  4. Close the lid, set valve to Sealing and cook on High for 1 minute.
  5. Release pressure immediately by turning valve to Venting.
  6. Place eggs in cold water or ice bath for 5 minutes.

Medium Boiled Eggs

  1. Place trivet or steamer basket inside Instant Pot.
  2. Add 1 cup hot tap water.
  3. Add 1-16 eggs.
  4. Close the lid, set valve to Sealing and cook on High for 3 minutes.
  5. Release pressure immediately by turning valve to Venting.
  6. Place eggs in cold water or ice bath for 5 minutes.

Hard Boiled Eggs

  1. Place trivet or steamer basket inside Instant Pot.
  2. Add 1 cup cold water.
  3. Add 1-16 eggs.
  4. Close the lid, set valve to Sealing and cook on High for 5 minutes.
  5. Let pressure come down on its own (do nothing) for 5 minutes and then turn valve to Venting.
  6. Place eggs in cold water or ice bath for 5 minutes.

Notes

  • I used large eggs. If using medium size, you might reduce cook time by a minute and otherwise.
  • Recipes tested in 6 quart Instant Pot. 8 quart might need less cook time as well.
  • I used eggs straight from the fridge.
  • Use a trivet or steamer basket to avoid cracking.
  • Eggs should not be submerged in water or touching inner liner walls.
  • You can cook anywhere from 1-16 eggs at a time.
  • If cooking up to 4 eggs, cold water bath will do. More than 5 eggs, change cold water a few times or use ice bath.
