What You Need

Make crisp topping: Add flour, oats, sugar, cinnamon, baking powder in a medium bowl and stir. Cut in butter with pastry blender, fork or hands until well combined.

1.

Prep apples: Peel using a vegetable peeler or I love the Johnny apple peeler. Core and slice, then add to an 8×8 square baking dish.

2.

Add remaining filling ingredients and topping: Add vanilla, maple syrup, cinnamon and stir to coat. Spread apple mixture into an even layer, then sprinkle crumble topping.

3.

Bake: For about 35 minutes or until golden brown and top is set. Remove from the oven and allow to cool for at least 10 minutes before serving.

4.

Serve: Topping with  vanilla ice cream is a must. Plain or vanilla Greek yogurt is also delicious.
