A dip with tortilla chips or a fish taco topping, this sweet and spicy Strawberry Mango Salsa is delicious! A perfect combination of sweet, spicy and fresh. Strawberry season is in a full swing and since we are getting bikini ready, dessert making kinda shouldn’t be happening. But don’t worry, there are so many other ways to enjoy fresh berries and fruit besides smothering them with pounds of heavy cream and sugar.

I love fruit salsas and as soon as summer hits => game on. Last year I made blueberry strawberry salsa and have at least 3 more on my never ending To Make List, so stay tuned. And by the way, this salsa goes oh so well with grilled fish tacos, healthy salmon burger recipe or easy shrimp tacos.

It’s perfect for a BBQ party, Cinco de Mayo celebration or an easy weeknight dinner served with fish or pork. It’s best consumed the same day. Also feel free to adjust spiciness to your own taste. Remember, it’s the seeds in jalapeños that are spicy and the pepper itself is pretty mild. Double the recipe for a large crowd, as we found this recipe to be perfect for a party of 4. That’s a fancy word for a pure chaos dinnertime at our house, haha. Trust me, you don’t wanna come over between 6 – 7 PM.

I served this Strawberry Mango Salsa is fresh, sweet and spicy salsa that goes well with tortilla chips or fish and pork. with RW Garcia chips the other night. I love the taste, short ingredients list, non-GMO project verification and low sodium content of the chips. Yes, I find most chips extremely salty but not these. I was offered a few samples and highly recommend RW Garcia! You know I don’t promote products I don’t believe in. I just want to spread the word about good companies like this one and fight GMO giants like Kraft and General Mills. Please look for healthy chips to enjoy with your healthy salsa! Strawberry Mango Salsa

Strawberry Mango Salsa

Ingredients

  • 1 cup strawberries, diced
  • 1 medium mango, diced
  • 1 medium avocado, diced
  • 2 tbsp onion, minced
  • 1 jalapeño, seeded and finely chopped (leave some seeds for spiciness)
  • 1/2 cup cilantro, chopped
  • 1/2 lime, juice of
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • Tabasco or red hot pepper flakes, to taste (optional)

Directions

  1. Add all ingredients in a medium bowl and gently mix. Adjust salt and spiciness to taste.
  2. Storage Instructions: Refrigerate covered and serve within a day.

I love to be in the kitchen, but I am not very creative on my own–I rely heavily on food blogs and I am so glad to have recently found yours. Thank you!

    1. You are welcome, Laura. I remember once I tried fruit salsa, I kept making it for days. I will make this one tomorrow as well. To pair with healthy tortilla chips and a glass of wine.:) Creating a recipe takes time, much easier to follow one. It’s a job.:) So glad to gain you as a new follower.     1. Haha, thank you! If you control the amount of chips, totally guilt free. Once you are over the limit, slice up some raw zucchini or cucumber into “chips”.;)

I finally was happy to put a face to your name.:) Although I do not have any health issues, like you I find a hard time to commit to any plan or diet. I eat clean and healthy, all in moderation. I noticed lately I bake mostly vegan and gluten free, just by accident. But I wouldn’t mind to eat plain Greek yogurt and cottage cheese. I use only a bit of milk for coffee and barely eat cheese. All organic of course. Just wanted to say hi.:) Love your recipes!
